In the south western part of Slovenia stretches a region called Kras (Karst). It is a land of rare beauty, secret underground waters and caves, special climate and scarce vegetation. A local guide will take the visitors on a guided tour through the stables pointing out different methods of stages of breeding and training noble horses. A special feature is a show-programme of a star Lipizzanes studs performing the excellence of what they have learned in Lipica school of training.
Another pearl of Karst are the Postojna caves, an impressive, two million years old underground world of fabulous stalactites, stalagmites, pillars, and translucent curtains, constitute one of the most beautiful natural attractions in Europe. A ride by electric train will be followed by a guided walk through a series of illuminated halls and underground channels of a total length of 27 km. The underground waters are the home of the world's unique, rare, and endangered amphibian Proteus anguinus which you also see in the caves.
